Héctor Ferrada, originally from Santiago, is a leading expert in Computer Science. Graduated with honors in Computer Science from USACH in 2005. After 4.5 years in the private sector, where he contributed to the development of computer systems and solutions for companies such as Falabella, he started his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Chile in 2010, finishing in 2016 under the direction of Dr. Gonzálo Navarro.
Specializing in design and analysis of algorithms for compact data structures, he completed a postdoc at the University of Helsinki in 2016, focusing on compression algorithms for biological sequences. Currently, as an educator and researcher at the Institute of Informatics, Dr. Ferrada excels in areas such as Algorithms, Data Compression, Compact Data Structures and High Performing Computing. His extensive research is reflected in recent publications in renowned scientific journals.
